Overall, Midwood Smokehouse balances quality and convenience, with a casual, approachable vibe that suits its location.
For an airport restaurant it is probably a good choice, I got the burnt ends, they were very tender and not dry, but the BBQ sauce was extremely sweet, too much for me, the coleslaw was better. And prepare for a really big dish, this is one of the very few times (three in my life I think) I left some meat on the plate. It is ok, not the best but it is not bad, maybe it is because I got it for dinner
Ordered from a QR code on the table. Ordered the pulled pork dinner with a side of baked beans. They brought an order of brisket nachos and said I had ordered them! Did not and refused them. After a fairly long wait, got my actual order. Pulled pork was okay. Did get a generous portion. Baked beans were good, touch of heat. Hush puppies were cold but tasted okay. Sat at the bar. Was crowded. Lady bartender was trying, needed help. Overall it was okay. Pretty much airport food and service. Captive customers, so overpriced and so-so service.
This was by far the best airport meal I have ever had. The pulled pork sandwich was so flavorful and cooked to perfection (or shall i say smoked to perfection) that you don't need any sauce on it. The nachos wirh brisket was a very good portion and excellent. Service was top notch!
Really nice experience here at midwood smokehouse. Service was friendly, quick and attentive. Was seated quickly during dinner hours. Pulled pork and brisket burnt ends were good. Burnt ends could’ve been a little more tender but overall good. Reasonably priced as well.
Mixed reviews it seems so thought I'd help balance the perspective. I've been here a few times, probably my favorite airport grub at Charlotte. Had the cheesesteak before, this we had the smoked turkey sandwich and the pimento burger w side salad. Still my pick here, better luck to the others next time.
The hostess (Katie) made this place! She was very friendly. Calm even when busy all around. Good vibes here. —And the bloody Mary and sweet potato fries was just right for a short layover!
Food was fantastic, not sure why there were poor reviews. Our service was quick and the food was amazing. Loved the East Carolina BBQ sauce and the meat was cooked to perfection. We got the turkey platter, pork platter, and a side of burnt ends.
I had a 1930s biscuit steak and cheese sandwich, which was great! The french fries were warm, but I would definitely come back here again.
